from 1106 reviewsFantastic design to use up all those pesky scrap bits!
I had some old deer hide I used for the body, and scrap veg tan 7-9oz for the end caps, I gave em a quick boil soak and placed an empty glue stick container (from cutting and glue dark horse patterns to Manila folders and lamenting them) inside to let the case dry and set.
I'm not one for tooling, I prefer the simple things. Even without tooling, this would be a fantastic item for new crafty people, a&s prizes, or just general use!
(If one is savvy with scaling ratios, this would be a great base design for scroll tubes - (side glace to the darkhorse team inserted here)
Got exactly what I ordered!
I've long been buying Darkhorse patterns, and this set is another absolute smash.
One might wonder, "Do I really need ALL the sizes?"
If you make armor for a group, absolutely, save yourself the late night rants about adjusting sizing, and re-printing patterns to adjust, again.
If you're looking for personal patterns, just buy the size you need!
-Design comment: This is really easy to incorporate into witcher armor/cosplay, mix in some leather backed mail, and boom
Good project for beginners, easy to follow and leaves space to add your own flourishes.
This pattern was super easy to follow. I do the cutting and my kid put it together. Great project! I’ve made two so far with plans for more!
Love the pattern, what I was hoping for, easy to size down
Evrything was perfect.
Very detailed instructions and pattern.
Very detailed instructions and pattern. Would recommend for others.
I scaled up the pattern to make a pouch big enough to hold a large cell phone. The video instructions were very detailed and helpful. I used my Juki TL machine with a teflon foot, leather needle, and Tex 45 thread to sew the pouch. I like that part of it is turned, making for a clean seam. I used a cut work design on some suede to decorate the front flap, and an antler button closure.
Excellent! Cant wait to get started on this project.
Easy to follow Pattern and love how easy they are to customize. I doubled up 8-9 ounce leather for these and wax hardened them as I am using them for SCA Heavy combat.
I did the leaf hair slider - I have no idea what I’m doing, and just wanted to spend some time using the tools and get a little comfortable with them. I was surprised how easy it was to follow the video and the pattern, and super happy with the result
So easy to follow these instructions. I didn't have leather, so instead used pleather. It wasn't as stiff around the corners but otherwise worked in that medium too. I plan to make a true leather one and believe that should be easy enough to follow for that.
