Leather Satchel Pattern
This is a fairly straightforward leather satchel pattern with a large 3" deep main pocket, a smaller 1.5" deep front pocket and an adjustable shoulder strap.
I kept the construction fairly simple, so it's a good introduction to making leather bags without getting into a ton of complicated pieces. The finished satchel is 12" × 10", with plenty of room for everyday gear.
I've kept the design fairly plain so there's lots of room to make it your own. You can add carving or tooling, change the hardware, add your own artwork, or just leave it simple like the original.
The pattern can also be scaled if you want to make a larger or smaller version.
