    Thank you

A mechanic friend lost his hand to a firework accident. He is always tearing his arm up moving around under vehicles with no hand. So he asked me to make him something to protect his stump. I could not get the elbow curve correct so I bought your pattern. So thank you from both of us.

It was a fun build - with the pattern and the video, it was very easy to follow and assemble. I changed a few things that made more sense to me, namely the elbow strap can be 'hidden' between the part you do the tooling on and the actual elbow pad, and then secured out of site. You attach the strap before stiching it all up and the badge ends up covering the rivot that holds the strap in place and the first few inches of the strap end. This makes it more visually clean (you dont punch a hole through your carving), it directs the strap from the rivot, around the entire outside corner of the elbow pad, and then around the arm making it not flair out and thus look and fit much better. On the inside of the brace, the hidden strap will not touch the arm - this will cause less rubbing and chafing. So far it works better for me but overall a fun and easy pattern. My first one, I built it with the arm bracer and it took me about 13 hours to complete.
