Leather Satchel Pattern - Viking Artwork
This leather satchel pattern was originally designed around carrying an iPad, but it works just as well as a small everyday shoulder bag.
The satchel has a simple rectangular construction with a large front flap and adjustable shoulder strap. I've included my Viking artwork for the flap, but you can use your own artwork, leave it plain, or customize the design however you like.
There is a sleeve inside the satchel that connects to the back where you can slide an iPad Pro into.
It's a fairly straightforward leatherworking project and a good option if you want to make a smaller satchel without a lot of complicated construction.
The rolled edge finishing on these images was done with a sewing machine, and are not included in this pattern. The edges are instead sewn like most other satchels.
