Viking Shield Edge Pattern - Rawhide & Leather
This is the shield edging pattern I use when making my Viking shields. It's designed to help you lay out the edging and keep your stitching evenly spaced around the outside of a round shield.
The pattern includes edge spacing for shields from 20" to 29" in diameter, so you can choose the size that matches your shield rather than working out all the spacing yourself.
You can use it with leather or rawhide edging, and I've also got a Viking shield tutorial on YouTube where I go through the shield building process.
